Good morning everyone. I'm down here in Maryland at the Maryland State Fairgrounds surrounded by men. It is a nice way to start the weekend. Oh and there is the constatnt train whistle blowing in the background. That's right, you guessed it, I am at a train show. I've been up since 6 am or something and I am ready for a nap or shopping. Tonight is the 70th anniversary banquet for the Hockessin Fire Company so that gives me something to look forward to. Randy tells me it is surf and turf for dinner. I mean REAL surf and turf: lobster and filet mignon. Now we're talking! My dressed FINALLY arrived so I am happy that I have something appropriate to wear (I hope). I am trusting Randy on this one but he tells me anything goes. Ooh now he's giving me a massage. Anyway check back for photos. This is my first attempt to blog from my BlackBerry.

Okay...I'm at the Hockessin Fire Hall listening to bad music, watching drunk people, but otherwise having a good time. I partied with senators from Delaware tonight but don't ask their names - I'd fail miserably. This fire company knows how to throw a party! The food here may have topped ANY wedding reception I've ever attended. Wait - Melissa and Jon's out in Lancaster might top this. There were at least five separate courses and of couse the long-awaited lobster and filet mignon. My favorite was probably the chocolate chip cheesecake, chocolate dipped strawberries, and other fabulous desserts. There must be between 300 and 400 people in attendance. I just need to get a photo of Randy in a suit. I waited a long 10 months for this. He's HOT!

Okay. We left the party because I was tired but just as I was about to climb into the duty chief vehicle, the siren went off - house fire. So, here I sit at 11:15pm in a Tahoe in the middle of the road with lights flashing and cars swerving. There must have been at least six or so trucks that showed up but most of them are leaving. I'm going to take that as a good sign. I believe the call was for smoke in the basement or something. Ok. I think all trucks EXCEPT me and the engine up the hill somewhere have left. I'm sure that any instant someone is going to run into me.

I guess that's all there is to write. I will just sit here and be a hazard in the road hoping that no one plows into me if I don't go crazy from the lights.
