National Card Making Day Party - A Success

Thanks for all of you who came to the Stampin' Up on Saturday. I think everyone had a lot of fun. Look! I got my computer working long enough to upload some pictures of us and the cards we made:

Wow - do I need curtains in the living room or what?!?!?

What a weekend. I took off work on Friday to get ready for the party. But, of course I got distracted. I decided to go to the spa for some pampering. Wow, I needed and deserved that. It had been too long!!! On the way to the spa, I spotted a Hermes store. They had the cutest purses in the window in kind of a burnt orange color. So, I wanted to stop back after the spa. Now, I know Hermes is expensive. I've heard them talk about them on Will and Grace and there were rumors (that apparently aren't true) that Lindsay Lohan had her Hermes purse stolen at a Paris airport in the last couple of months. So, I had to see what all of the fuss was about. I've visted the website before, but the purses aren't listed. I thought the prices were in the Tiffany's range. So, I expected the purses to run $500-$1000. SO.....I stopped in. Well, the fact that the door was locked and they had to let me in should have been my first clue. I looked nice. My hair was done, my makeup was done, I was carrying a stylish Vera Bradley bag, but I probably looked like a bag lady to them. The purses were displayed in museum cases. As I stood in the middle of the store looking completely lost, a sales girl approached. She asked if there was anything she could help me with and I told her I liked the purses. I then casually asked the price range. She said that they have some reasonably priced ones and then they go up from there. Still feeling daring, I asked what "reasonable" meant. She said reasonable = $1400. SHOCKED, I tried to hide it, but exclaimed that "reasonable" was about $500 in my book and that they were a bit out of my price range. She agreed and said, "Yes, I don't think we have anything for you." Hello Julia Roberts, Pretty Woman moment! I've never felt so out of my element in a shopping environment. Wow! Okay, so Hermes was located between a Louis Vuitton and a Gucci with Tiffany's around the corner. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Saturday was FUN. Thank you Julie for ALL of your help keeping my FOCUSED (that was her job). Thank you for buying additional food and fly traps, thank you for making spinach dip, thank you for helping with the cookies and the cider, thank you for vacuuming my house, thank you for everything you did! I couldn't have done it without you. Kelly - thank you too for helping me pick out the perfect dishes to serve food, thank you for picking up the pizza, thank you for helping keep me focused too. You guys are great! You've now seen how entirely crazy I can be.

Sunday I finally got the chance to play in my craft room. I LOVE it! It's my favorite room in the whole house. After making chicken pot pie and chocolate chip cookies for dinner last night, I played in there for a couple hours while watching ABC's line up.

Stay tuned for some exciting new announcements that I should be making in the next week or so!!!
