One Week Down!
I know you've all be anxiously awaiting the result of the first week of my diet. Never fear, you won't have to wait another second. Here's this week's picture. I think it was a successful week. If I'm doing the math correctly, I've lost 6 pounds so far. I think I'd like to lose 20 by Kelly's wedding. I know I'm capable of losing more, but I'm not going to kid myself - Christmas is just 3 1/2 weeks away. Here are the foods I've fallen in love with this week that have helped me be successful:
- Sugar Free Hot Chocolate - only 60 calories and 1 gram of fat. It's a wonderful treat when you're craving chocolate. They have it here in the Radnor office. Whenever I feel the urge to run to the vending machine (which is 20 feet away), I grab this instead.
- Turkey Burgers - Who knew they could be so tasty! I bought ground turkey, rolled them into patties, cooked them on the stove top, slapped a piece of fat-free cheese on top, and ate them on a potato roll. Relatively low and points, and I felt like I was being so bad! They would probably be healthier if I cooked them on my George Foreman Grill, but I think the juciness is one of the things I love about them.

Let's see, not a whole lot else is going on. Dad installed a WONDERFUL new light in the craft room. It has 3 pendant lights which hang down over the craft table. Julie, you'll love it! Julie has always hated the lighting in the room. When we took out the old light fixture, we saw that the single bulb was 75 Watts. The new light has 180 Watts - almost 150% brighter - plus it shines directly down on the work area. Now the rest of my house seems dim. Once I get curtains and stuff on the walls it will be complete. I love paint. It's amazing how a $30 can of paint and a new light fixture can completely transform a room.

Radnor
You've all probably heard me complain that there's no formal work area here in the office. I brought my camera to work today to illustrate where I work. This is the view behind me. We sit under umbrellas in a large atrium. People love to come out and sit on these benches behind me and chat. It's just not the ideal work environment, but it's pretty! Oh, and at 4pm when the sun goes down, it gets dark and cold. Most of the light comes from the glass ceiling.

Congrats on the diet this week! Turkey burgers are great and if you want to add some extra flavor, use salsa instead of mayo or dressing. Salsa also works great on salads instead of dressing. Just a thought :) Kelly

WOW! Great job. I have yet to actually BEGIN anything. The exercise bike is still in the corner of our livingroom! I WILL be moving it out this weekend and will try my best to get on it everyday! You are a great inspiration! Julie B.
