Why Didn't I Fly?

I had a LONG time to think about the heading for this posting last night and what I was going to say. Did you know....
- that it is possible to drive 6 miles without the needle on your speedometer actually moving?
- that it is possible to fly to Colorado faster than it is to drive from Arlington to Alexandria, VA?
- that I will NEVER EVER AGAIN drive to DC for business.

Can you tell I had a rough drive home? I left the hotel in Arlington at 5:15pm. I succeeded in driving 6 miles and got on 95 North just after 8pm. Isn't that ridiculous. Good grief, I understand traffic. But that was unreal. I could have walked faster. I think I walk 4 miles an hour at a leasurely walk. Walking would have gotten me there twice as fast! AAGGGHHH!!! I was going to post this last night, but apparently I'm having more networking issues at home than I thought. That certainly didn't cheer me up when I finally reached home at 11pm last night.

This morning I rejoiced at my 1 1/2 hour commute to Radnor. I sure hope this isn't normal. There is absolutely no one here. But, I do have to tell you about the first e-mail I saw when I logged on...well, maybe I'll just post it here and remove the client's name:

We are working on a pursuit for a financial institution and are interested in determining if any practitioners would consider relocating to Zurich (and/or Singapore) for up to two years. If not interested in relocation, would you be okay with a travel schedule of 5 weeks on-site (in Europe or Asia / Pacific) and 1 week back in the States?

HELLO?!?!!? Where do I sign up? And that's pretty much what I asked my resource manager this morning. I obviously don't wish to relocate. And by the sound of it, it's not even a sold project. Oh, and the managing director? I used to work for him at Andersen so he should at least be aware of me!!! I'll keep ya posted.
