Scary or Flattery?
Okay, the strangest thing happened to me. I don't how to interpret it. I was walking down 8th street in Philly this afternoon. My client has two buildings in the area, but I have to walk about a half a block, down the sidewalk, to go between the two. Anyway, I was walking (or waddling) along with my laptop slung over my shoulder when a car slowed down next to me. A VERY cute guy called out the window at me and flashed an adorable smile. He asked if I needed a ride. He was probably about my age and driving a nice car. Since I was walking away from the client's parking lot, I don't know if he saw me exit and wondered if I was a co-worker. But, what the heck? Was he hitting on me? I'd like to think so. But, who asks strangers if they need a ride if they don't have some scary, ulterior motive? Now, if I was about 120 pounds and looking sexy, I could understand the attention. But, it's not every day that I get hit on. What do you think? Since it wasn't expected, I politely responded that I was only walking to the next driveway and thanked him. Was he hitting on me? Do you think he was making fun of me? Do you think he wanted to kidnap and rape me? I hate the city! But, I'm going to just let myself believe that he found me incredibly attractive and was trying to flirt! Don't worry mom and dad, even if those were his intentions, I wouldn't have climbed into a stranger's car.
I still regret not being more forward on my first-class flight to Australia a year and a half ago. A nice, probably wealthy, single man kept hinting about restaurants and eating out in Sydney. He even gave me the name of his hotel. It's so rare that someone hits on me (or maybe it happens daily and I miss it). I never know how to react. If you remember, I was about 80 pounds lighter and looking more attractive then. He lived in Virginia - not too bad for a long distance relationship. He had to have been well-off - he was flying to Australia to buy dogs!!! Who flies to another country, on the other side of the world, to buy dogs?!?!!? Aren't there plenty in this country? Anyway, I really should have invited him to dinner with me that night. That's innocent enough, right?? Besides, if I embarassed myself, I shoudln't have cared - I never would have seen him again. However, I did see the guy I sat across from about a week later in Sydney at a restaurant with his family. Small world. Sorry, I'm only really rambling now. I'll stop boring you.

Well... $hi+. I wrote a whole comment, hit "publish" and it disappeared. I'll see if I can recreate.
I would tend to think the guy was hitting on you. I think if he was going the rape/murder route, he would have chosen a more secluded area to approach you than a crowded city street. Too many witnesses.
As far as the "120 lbs & sexy" part, different strokes for different folks. Some guys like the walking toothpicks, some guys like a woman with a little meat on their bones. You never know. I find it does better for my self esteem, if there's any doubt, to simply assume that the polite stranger wants to sleep with me. I'll never find out any different, so it can't hurt! :-)
May I say there are guys out there who love more to a woman than skin and bones. They don't jump out and say its me but I know quite a few and they see beauty in things others don't want to look at.
Go ahead and flirt, it does a mind good to know that you are beatiful.
I live in an area that if you are under 150 lbs your to skinny for the guys.
