Friday the 13th
Wow....the past 24 hours or so have been eventful. First, around 10am on Thursday the guys on the project started talking about lots of flight cancellations. I had no idea why. The weather was beautiful. The snow had finally stopped falling. Although, I had heard rumors about an approaching nor-easter, but it wasn't due until next week. So, because the guys were really persistent, I rented a one-way SUV rental just in case.... They told me the counters would be packed with people.

Throughout the day, I continued to check on the status of my flight. It showed it was still on time. No issues, although, I was prepared to be over 2 hours late getting home. And, just in case something happened, I had my rental car lined up.

Don't you know it....I got to the airport and my flight was cancelled. Why??? They couldn't get me home last night, but I wasn't worried, I had a rental car. The ticket agent told me I could expect a refund, and based upon my flight cost, that would be close to $200 - that would offset my new rental car. So, at 5pm, I hopped my Toyota Rav4. I have to admit, I liked the Kia Sorento more, but oh well.

The drive was easy, I didn't even have to refer to a map. I decided to swing by the Lake Henry house. It was about 2 hours away. The house looked good. I got the mail. I got emotional when I rounded the curve and saw the lake.

I was back on the road pretty soon and pulled into the Philly Airport around 10:30. I returned my rental car and waited and waited and waited for a rental car shuttle to take me to the terminal. I met a very chatty shuttle bus driver named Pat. She was new. So new that she didn't know where Terminal F was. That's just scary. She was very scared driving the bus. Scared of the other drivers. And, to be honest, starting to scare me. But, she loved her job.

So, I got home around 11:30 and found a TON of samples for siding and shutters and doors on my back porch - along with a $500+ bill for heating oil. When is Spring going to get here?!?!

I slept in this morning. Then realized I had no water. What's up with that?!?!? Granted, it didn't really sink in until around noon. Apparently it was a scheduled outage. Oh well. I smell. Life goes on.

Dad stopped by this afternoon to cut down the trees in my front yard. It was very exciting! I hated those trees. Were they trees or overgrown, misshapen shrubs? Regardless, my front yard is larger and looks great!

I'm enjoying my weekend so far. My builder-guy comes over tomorrow to talk about everything I want to do. I need to process everything. The material cost alone for my windows will be anywhere from $2700 to $6000. That does not include labor. I'm scared. Very scared. Anyway, check out the before and after pictures of the house....
