Let the Vacation Begin
....well, sorta. What a day. After 7.5 hours, 350+ miles, 3 cars, 2 airports, 2 gas stations, 1 dinner, and 1 torrential rain storm, I made it home at 9pm tonight. Not too shabby considering I usually get home between 8:30 and 9:00 when my flight is on time. The travel and looking forward to my week of certainly got to me....

When I pulled up in front of my house, I noticed that there were no recycle bins out front. I thought this was strange. I thought maybe mom had forgot. But, that's completely out of character! Mom goes above and beyond the call of duty by helping me while I travel. She takes out my trash, gets UPS packages (sometimes there are quite a few), and checks on things while I'm gone. I couldn't do it without her. Anyway, I walked in the house and saw that my air conditioners were on. I was so touched that someone had come and turned them on so my house would be comfy. Then I started walking through the living room, dining room, and kitchen in search of the Stampin' Up! catalogs. I knew they had arrived and mom had hidden them somewhere. That's when I spotted it. No, not the box of catalogs (I completely forgot about those for a moment) but THE DISHWASHER! Dad was going to put it in this weekend, but he installed it tonight!!! I burst into hysterical tears. I immediately called them. I think it took mom and dad a good five minutes to figure out it was me. I certainly couldn't talk. I finally explained that I was just REALLY happy. I was going to show you a picture, but apparently the battery on my camera has died. So, the picture will have to wait. However, that's not all....Dad also put in a piece of molding to hold down the laminate floor in the bathroom!!!! It's been curling up for years!!!! I was SO happy - and I hadn't even opened the box of catalogs yet.

Finally, after making a few phone calls, freaking out over an electric bill that is higher than this time last year when I was living here full-time, checking voicemail, did I finally sit down and cry (again). Why? Narrow Chocolate Chip ribbon is GONE!!!! That was my absolute favorite accessory in the catalog. They're introducing wide chocolate chip ribbon, but it's just not the same. I also teared up when I realized that Like it a Latte didn't graduate into the catalog. I love that stamp set. I'm trying to be happy over all of the wonderful new things. It probably doesn't help that I'm surrounded by all of the things that have retired and I'm selling. I hate to part with old friends. However, I know they'll go to good homes - my friends' homes!

Well, now I'm just getting goofy. Maybe it's the pain meds. Should my tooth still hurt a full week after they put the temporary crown in? I've gotta call the dentist tomorrow. Some thing's not right and I'm not about to wait three weeks to get it addressed.
