Sad and Excited
I'm sad and excited, all at the same time. Why? Today Stampin' Up! released it's list of retiring accessories. It's two pages long!!! At first I panicked. I thought, "Oh no, the ribbon is retiring!" But, alas, it sounds like it's only being repackaged differently going forward. I'm a ribbon FREAK. If you want to see the list, click here. So, seeing all of these wonderful products go away only makes me wonder what they could be bringing out in a week. I also woke this morning to a shipment notification for my catalogs. The new catalog should be here in a week. I'm so excited. I can't stand it.
So, I've been really trying to brainstorm a vacation destination for the week of the 4th. Here are the things I've considered:
- Cruise to Bermuda (Passport restrictions have been lifted through September because of the backlog).
- Cruise to Alaska
- Flying to Alaska and renting an RV
- Cruise to the Baja Penisula
- Napa Valley wine tasting
- 4th of July cruise on the Queen Mary out of NYC
- Marco Island luxurious spa resort getaway. I actually have a "Terrace Suite" reserved - absolutely gorgeous. I have until the 25th to cancel it. Please don't let me forget, it's a rather pricey room.
- Ohio to visit friends.
- Phoenix (are you surprised)
- Las Vegas
- Salt Lake City and Utah to go Scrapbook Store hopping (concerned about getting all of the stuff I buy home)
....and last but not least....
- Amtrak to Boston on the 3rd. Stay in Boston 2 nights and see the fireworks on the 4th. Then hop on the Downeaster to Portland, ME and stay there for two days.
I'm sure there were other ideas that popped in my head, but those are the ones I actually took time to research. What do I do????? Oh yeah, there's also the stay-at-home-and-clean vacation, but who wants to do that???
It doesn't help that I'm surrounded by vacation talk. The folks I work with have either just gotten back or are planning wonderful vacations:
- Kelly just got back from a week in Bermuda (hence the Cruise)
- Bill is going to Hawaii for the week of the 4th
- Rich is going to Cabo for the week of the 4th
- Melissa and Jonathan just got back from London
I'm so jealous of all of them!!!!! I want a luxurious vacation!!!!!

as for the 4th, the fireworks in Philly are pretty BANGIN'. You're welcome to come hang in Philly with the Wear crew. My mom-in-law and another TX friend will be here. Should be a grand time.
