Opinion Needed
Okay, I need your opinion on a card. I'm working on my projects for the August class. Yes, two weeks early! I'm usually still finishing up the projects the night or even the morning before. The theme of my class (if you don't know) is punches. I'm trying to achieve a filmstrip look using the spiral punch and a square punch. I've punched the horse (which I used to hate) onto Window Sheets (transparencies) then popped it up with dimensionals. Behind the "filmstrip", I tore some paper to give the effect of a mountainous background. What do you think? Lesson learned: no matter how hard you try, Zoofari does not work well on transparencies. Why? Because the outlined animals are so "crisp", one little wrong movement and you can tell. However, this horse is already distressed-looking so you can't tell if I accidentally moved and smudged the image or not! Yes, Sage Shadow is my new favorite color. Who would have thought?!!?!? So, should I go back to the drawing board or should this make it into my pile of projects for my Punch Class? The other projects include an adorable flower pot, a box filled with textured love notes, and some other project depending upon which punches remain unused - probably a more simple card.

In other news....
Remember how my air conditioner in my VW broke last weekend? Well, I took it in yesterday for an early oil change and to have the AC fixed. The car has 4200 miles on it. Apparently it needs a new compressor. Of course they don't have one in stock. And, they need to get one from Los Angeles! Okay. I really wanted to drive the VW to NY this week. I don't want to put another 700-800 miles on my Murano two weeks in a row. So, I asked about a loaner. The dealership said they couldn't give me one because the car was operable. I said that I didn't think it was reasonable for me to drive in the middle of a heat wave in a car with a broken air conditioner. Now, if the car had 60,000 miles on it or something, I probably wouldn't complain. However, the car has 4200 miles on it. It wasn't even due for its first oil change. And, if you remember, this wasn't the first problem I'd had with the car! So, the receptionist gave me the number for VW. She wasn't about to go above and beyond the call of duty to provide excellent service. She told me to call VW that night to see if they'd give me a loaner. Well, I wasn't about to leave the dealership until I'd exhausted my options. I called VW and they called the dealership. Less than ten minutes later, I was given approval for a loaner/rental car because of the unusually hot conditions. Easy, right? Wrong! Apparently every Enterprise Rental agency was completely out of cars anywhere in the area. And, if they did have one car on the lot, they didn't have anyone to deliver it. What happened to "We'll Pick You Up"? Isn't that their moto? I agreed to pick up a car. However, after an HOUR of waiting, we still didn't have confirmation that anyone had a car for me. I got fed up, the receptionist was just staring at me. So, I picked up my cell phone and called Enterprise - they had a car at the original location. So, off I went to pick up a Hyundai Tucson. I wasn't thrilled that it was a gas-guzzling SUV, but at least I wasn't putting more miles on my Murano. It took over two hours to get that problem resolved. Now I just have to call my dealership on Monday and remind them to pick up my car in Bridgeton - I hope it'll be safe.

Now, I guess I deserved it, but it's a PERFECT day to be driving a convertible today. It's gorgeous out. Now, I do have a second set of keys to the VW and I could probably drive down to Bridgeton to pick up my car, but I really don't need to waste gas - I'm unemployed, remember?

Hope you're having a great weekend. Oh, good news - I have two interviews next Friday morning! Wish me luck!

LOVE the card. so simple, and so beautiful! I really need to work on that aspect of my business. I should just start CASEing from my downline, as they have it together in that dept.

And way to go enforcing what you should get from those lousy car dealerships.

have a good Sunday!

Love this card -- you should not change a thing. This looks like a great card to use for a class.
