Interview Update
I know some of you are wondering how it all went yesterday. Well...surprisingly well considering my mood. I just couldn't get my butt motivated yesterday. And, I was only 10 minutes early - which is cutting it close for me.
So, interview one was in Cherry Hill at a hospital. I met with the Director of Networking something-or-other and the CIO. Apparently the CIO taught 3rd Grade in the same school when I was in the 4th Grade. Not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. He felt old, but we had fun reminiscing. The interview took a good hour. The ride home took an hour and 15 minutes. YUCK. It was an unwelcome reminder of why I don't want to work in Cherry Hill. I hate the traffic and 295/42/55.
So, I was completely famished by the time I got home. I had about an hour and a half to change into my next interviewing outfit - my pajamas. My 3pm interview with the software company was a phone interview. And, since they insist on calling my cell phone, I had to do the interview on my front porch. The interview went well, but who knows what kind of background noise the interviewer heard. At one point my neighbor, the plumber, pulled in in his HUGE truck. Very loud. At another point, my neighbor yelled across the street to see if I was locked out of my house.
Both companies have contacted me today to set up a second interview. I'm not exactly thrilled about either one. But, I'm still pursuing them. The casino is the most appealing at this point.
By the time it was all over, it was almost time for dinner. I had another of my favorite pork tenderloins. This time I tried the Rotisserie-flavored Pork Tenderloin. Very yummy. I paired it with some "dirty rice". It was excellent! I also paired it with a 2005 Penfolds Cellar Reserve Gewurztraminer. Not exactly the perfect pairing, but both were fantastic.
It must have been the wine, but I was exhausted and retired around 10pm last night and slept soundly until my doorbell rang at 10am this morning. Gosh, I love retirement.
So, tomorrow I have my second interview with the hospital. I'm a bit upset that it's 2 days after my first interview. Why? Because I only have one suit that fits!!!
