Labor Day Weekend
It was a gorgeous weekend. Although, right now it's over 80 degrees in my house. I'm wondering how it got so warm in here without me noticing. I've spent the last few hours in the nice, cool basement so I really notice it now.
So, let's catch you up to speed. I had my interview on Friday. I'm going to try not to get too excited too early. But, I think it went really well. However, I've never had an interview where I wasn't asked any questions!?!?! I was taken to lunch by two of the casino's IT people at the casino's buffet. Wow. Pretty nice. Then, it turns out that the IT people get to eat at the buffet for free EVERY DAY! Wowsers. There goes the diet! Anyway, as we sat down to eat, the VP of IT said to me (and maybe I misunderstood because my head was still spinning fro the buffet selection)...but I thought I heard him say..."we want to hire you so let me give you the sales pitch". What?!?!?!? Never in my life have I heard that one! The whole interview took close to two hours. It included lunch - which lasted over an hour. Then I got a tour of the casino's back offices. Wow! They really treat their employees well. The employee lounge had cafe tables with chess boards, huge flat-screen tvs, comfy chairs, an arcade, all-you-can drink soda fountain! And, of course there's the 20% off discount at the spa!!! Very nice. They said I should hear from them towards the middle of this week. Seems strange since the same person told me about 45 minutes before that they were just at the start of the interview process. I'll keep ya posted.
Saturday was going to be a fun day. Julie invited me to their family picnic in the afternoon. I got myself all ready, hopped in my car, drove to Julie's house, and no one was home! So, I called Julie who then told me that the picnic was Sunday. Oops. But, I met up with her anyway in Millville where she showed off her new tattoo. She, her two sisters, and two cousins each got a matching tattoo on Friday night. They're not my thing, but they sure are pretty. And, I'll especially never get one after hearing about all of the pain!!!
So, Sunday I tried it all over again. We had such a fun time. The tattoos were definitely a highlight of the event. Their family has such fun traditions. And, it's a big family so there's lots of tradition and stories to be told. I officially want to marry into the family or be adopted. However, they tell me that the picnic is held at that house every year on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend - so, regardless, I'm crashing the picnic!
Somehow I managed to sleep until noon today. I wasn't up late last night, but still slept - a lot. I've been working on a Christmas Card project and I'm surprised how creative I've been. I've designed about 13 Christmas Cards this weekend! I'm waiting on some supplies then I'll be able to finish it. When I'm done, I'll have 19 samples for people to choose from and make this holiday season. So, if you want to make your cards, but don't know where to start, I have the perfect solution for you!!!
So, at the beginning of this post I mentioned that I'm in the basement. Yes, I'm cleaning. I have so much brand new junk. Most of the stuff that's going has price tags still attached!!! Why did I ever buy all of this junk? What a waste of money! Feel free to stop by this week to get a peek at all of the stuff. Or come on over to Mom and Dad's on Saturday for the real deal. Okay...enough procrastinating. I have to get back to the basement - and all of the dust - and all of the allergies.
Have fun at work tomorrow!!!!!

sounds like quite an interview! I'm sure you'll keep us posted on how things pan out with casino. I look forward to hearing more about your Christmas cards!
