Weekend Away
So, you know me - I can't go too long without a vacation or at least a weekend away. This weekend I had nothing planned - the perfect reason to go away. Okay, I should probably sit tight and get some things done around the house. But, when have I ever done anything that I "should" do?

I thought about doing another "Where in the World is Kristin", but I've mentioned the destination to quite a few of you, so there would be no real challenge. I'm off to the Blue Mountains of Virgina to do some wine tasting. I've always wanted to check out some of the wineries down there. So, Mike (who is now officially my ex-boyfriend) and I are going down for the weekend. We'll be checking out the Blue Mountain region. It looks like a good amount of wineries in that area - and it's less than an hour off of the Beltway around DC. The weather looks like it's going to be perfect. So, it should be a fun weekend.

Hotel or B&B - that's always my dilemma. I love quaint little B&Bs, but there are no points to earn when you stay at one. Of course my first choice was to check to see what Marriott hotels were in the area! Well, guess what I found....a B&B owned by the Marriott!!! Check it out. I'm anxious to see what it's like. Here's info on the area where we're touring. So, you'll have to check back next week for some photos!

Diet Temptation
Ugh. So, the diet is going well. I've been saving my points for this weekend - wine isn't exactly "free" points even if it's free to taste. Worst of all I sit across the hall from our little kitchen here at work. Every Friday is "Bagel Club". It's a HUGE event. Even the guys arrange the bagels in a basket so they look pretty. Today there is a pumpkin filled with candy, fresh Philly soft pretzels, and worst of all - McMillan's Cream Filled Donuts! UGH!!! The temptation is KILLER. I can see them from my desk. I can smell the bagels when they're toasted. I hear people talking about them. It's driving me crazy. Luckily you need to be a part of the Bagel Club to partake. And, I was smart enough not to sign up. I only joined the "Lottery Club". And, participation in "Chinese Wednesdays" and "Sandwich Shop Fridays" is purely optional.
