FUN
Last night was A LOT of fun! Mike and I drove into the city for dinner and to pick up some concert tickets. Now, you may find this hard to believe, but I've never really been to a real concert - ever. I remember in high school begging to go to a U2 concert, but wasn't allowed. Was it a school night or something? I have been to a couple of outside concerts. I bought GREAT tickets to go to a Michael W. Smith concert in college - I skipped chapel to get them. But, someone was sick and the concert was canceled. Oh, and I did take mom to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra a couple of years ago. I guess that was a real concert - Mike says it wasn't. We're going to fix that in the next month! Are you ready for this???
Monday night Mike and I are going to hear Marah at the Tin Angel in Old City. We stopped by there to pick up the tickets last night. Cute place - very narrow. On Thursday night (yes, the same week), Mike and I are going to a concert that he really doesn't think I'll enjoy. I've been warned. Someone else couldn't go so he got the tickets - and he had an extra. I'm being open-minded. The band is called Avenged Sevenfold. Wow, their website is kinda scary. They also have a song on the Guitar Hero 2 game!!! Finally, we're going to be hearing Marah again in Philly in December at their Christmas Conert at the The Fillmore at the TLA on South Street. Anyway, I'm making up for many missed concerts over my lifetime in the next few weeks.
We had a fun time down on South Street last night. It was chilly, but I was bundled up really well - probably more than most of the other folks on the street but I didn't care. He took me to his favorite pizza joint - Lorenzos. If you've been down there more than me (not hard to do), you may know about this place. It's tiny. The pizzas come in two varieties - one slice or one pie. Not many choices. The slices are huge, greasy, and taste FANTASTIC. In the back of the restaurant there's an eating area that resembles a closet. I actually think the walk-in closet in my first apartment may have been larger. It appears larger because the room is lined with floor to ceiling mirrors. I was very self-conscious watching myself eat - very disturbing. There are no tables or chairs - just a counter that runs around the room. We had 2 slices and 2 sodas and it cost $7. Not bad! I may start researching Old City restaurants for Monday night! Neither of us were impressed with the menu at Tin Angel.
When we got back to my house we had to play Guitar Hero!!! What have I become?!?!?! A gaming addict going to concerts in the city! I'm NOT complaining.

teehehee...now I know how your south st. adventure went. lorenzos sure is good stuff, if you can get past the giant cheesy painting of a woman in a bikini on their outside wall (and the other things you mentioned). yum! their slices are gigantic.
hey, the mirrors give it that 'classy' look. so which was narrower - the eating area at lorenzo's or the tin angel?
Seriously, are you going to see Avenged Sevenfold? They are one of my ABsolute favorite bands, and Matt and I are seeing them on 11/15. I really do not think you will like that concert, but if you're going, we have to meet up!
