New Addiction
I'm tired. I'm exhausted. My eyes are bloodshot and I can hardly keep them open. Why? No, I haven't been drinking all of the wine from Virginia. I've only had one bottle - and that was last Monday. I bet you can't guess! Hmmm....maybe this should be a contest. I think Mike's the only one who knows. Nah...I'll just tell you.
I'm completely addicted to Guitar Hero III for the Wii. I'd post a link, but I believe the hospital blocks "gaming" sites (found that out the hard way yesterday). What is Guitar Hero III? It's this SUPER fun game. You get a wireless guitar and you have to play along with the Wii. I was DETERMINED to beat Slash last night. Have I lost you?
Well, let me take a step back, as the game goes along, and you get better, you "unlock" new songs. I've beaten more than half of the songs at the "Medium" level. I got a bit sure of myself last night and tried the "Hard" level. Yup, that'll take some time. I'll stick to Medium for now. Anyway, you can play as part of a band and earn "money" at various gigs. You can then use the money to buy more guitars, more people, clothes, color schemes, songs, music videos, and probably a couple of other things. My musician is this cute little cheerleader-looking girl with pig-tails. I've earned enough money to dye her hair all sorts of colors. (I'd rather have more clothes for her than more guitars.) At some points in the game, you have a "face off" with another computerized musician. The first one wasn't too difficult. Once I realized how I was supposed to play, I won on the third try. However, Slash was a different story. I was determined to beat him last night - and I did! How do you beat them? Well, you can attack them with your guitar. You can blow out their AMP, cut their strings, make them play at a harder level, make them play chords instead of single notes, and probably other things I didn't figure out. By the way, all the while they're doing the same to you. However, by 1am, Slash was history!!!! I've been playing the older, Playstation versions of the game with Mike since June. I was completely addicted. I searched the internet yesterday for a store that still had the newer game in stock. I only had to drive to Sickerville - not too far out of the way. This is the first release of the game that was available for the Wii.
It was funny - just as I was getting the game started, mom stopped by. I answered the door holding a very realistic-looking guitar. She thought I was taking up the guitar until she realized I was playing a video game. I'm sure she thinks I've completely lost it. I'm not exactly the video game kinda girl.
Tomorrow you will have the option to buy additional guitars. It's so much more fun to play with another person. So, I'm adding an extra guitar to my Christmas List.
Which, by the way, if you tried to find my list on Pottery Barn or Williams Sonoma and couldn't find it, don't worry. I couldn't find them either. I was pissed. I spent a lot of time "shopping" yesterday. However, I can find them both today using just my first and last names. Maybe I'll shop some more today!!!
FINAL NOTE: I was perusing my favorite news sites this morning, and I came across this Wii Article on www.azcentral.com.
