It's Party Time!
Well, tonight's the night. I've been planning and preparing all week. The house has been transformed! The food is ready. Of course I have a bit more clutter to "hide", but the house is otherwise ready! Aren't coming? You're going to miss tons of fun. Here's the menu:
- Beer Bread and Spinach Dip
- Veggie Tray
- Potato Chips
- Pretzels
- Tortilla Chips
- Various Dips: Onion, Fiesta, Veggie, and Asiago Cheese
- Chocolate Fondue served with various dippers: marshmallows, rice crispy treats, pretzels, bananas, and strawberries
- Cheese and Pepperoni Platter
- Several varieties of cookies
- Nuts and candy
- Peanut Butter Fudge
- A Gingerbread House (if we can figure out how to eat it)
- Chocoate Cheesecake Candy Cane Bars
- Sundried Tomato/Feta Cheeseball
- Various hot appetizers
The classroom has been transformed into the Wii gaming room. It even has a tree! I love it! I hope people have fun. I just wish I had more guitars! The craft room has been transformed into a bar. The living room is cozy and welcoming. I've even rearranged my dining room and kitchen to accomodate all of the food and beverages. I can't wait to see all of you!!! Yes, I'll take pictures. Mike has been a HUGE help and has kept me sane. He helped me purchase beer and wine last night. I could tell the guy was getting frustrated. Julie's coming over as well to help tonight. But, luckily, a lot of it is already done because I had a blessing in disguise yesterday.
Remember my plumbing issues? The one where solid human waste flows out of my vent pipe and into my backyard? Yup - perfect timing! However, this time we were going for a more permanent solution! My plumber wanted to drive a new pipe in through my basement and under my back porch. This made me REALLY nervous since if things went wrong, I wouldn't have a bathroom for the party. I had already started thinking about "Port-a-Johns". Wouldn't that have been fun? So, I "worked from home" yesterday. I don't get time off for another month, so having the day at home was a huge blessing - I got lots of preparations done. And, the plumbing fix only took an hour and a half! Not too bad!!!
See you tonight - and bring your appetite!!!

I gotta say when Kristin puts on a party, and you didn't come, you missed it big time. I went from one food tray and table to the next. WOW! I was giddy from food and cafine (I don't drink). Great party Kristin! I must add that your decorations thru out the house did not go unnoticed.
Love DAD
'twas a fun party indeed. I regret not trying the chocolate cheesecake bars...I had two pieces of fudge though! :0) Claire
