Wedding Day
(click on pictures to view as larger image)

Today is the day! My brother is getting married and I am getting a sister. I am at the salon right now with the girls. I have makeup and am waiting for my hair. Apparently we are doing a dance routine! Me? Dancing? This should be good. Melissa has choreographed it and they were practicing while my makeup was being done. It looks complicated but they assure me its easy. I just kept hearing technical terms like "pivot turn". AAAGGGHHH! If nothing else people will get a good laugh.

I didn't find any other time during the day to post, so I'll sum it all up now...

The wedding was perfect. The weather started off very scary. It was windy and rainy when I left the house at 7:30 to head for DE. By the time I arrived it had at least stopped raining. I have never seen my brother smile so much. He was actually glowing. I've never said that about him. Seeing him smile and be SO happy just brought tears to my eyes and more tears and more tears. People talked about my tears all night. I CRIED the whole way down the aisle. I'm not talking the silent, single tear rolling down my cheek. No, I'm talking about sobbing, waterfall tears. There may have been some shoulder shaking in there too. And it didn't stop when I got up front. It continued throughout the whole service. They were definitely tears of joy. From where I was standing, I had the perfect view of Ed. He was smiling from ear to ear. Wow - I want someone to look at me that way. If we all had someone looking at us like that, the world would be a better place. Because I knew he was so happy, I just kept crying. My tears made dozens of people cry. And I wasn't the only bridesmaid crying through the service (thank goodness). So, I'll now share some of my favorite moments of the day....

Getting ready...

After the ceremony...
While taking pictures after the ceremony, someone noticed the most beautiful rainbow outside. We were all excited that the sun was out and God was smiling down on the new, happy couple. Just think, if it hadn't rained that day, we wouldn't have had a rainbow!!!

The Reception...
The reception couldn't have been any nicer. The flowers were gorgeous (there were a dozen red roses on all of the tables). The cake was gorgeous (and delicious). The food was superb: lobster bisque followed by a salad followed by fillet Mignon followed by creme brulee. Wow! I really enjoyed visiting with friends and family. The evening was perfect. I didn't catch the bouquet (and I didn't really try). The handsome Randy didn't catch the garter either (and I'm glad - I wouldn't want him touching another woman.) Oh, and I finally got to dance with my boyfriend. So maybe our song is Unchained Melody now. I'm not sure. We danced to the last 10 seconds before it was over then to another song I couldn't remember. The ONLY hitch/problem that happened was at the very end of the day. The toasts and speeches were wonderful and made me cry (of course). For about 10 minutes we couldn't find the keys for the car they were taking to the hotel. But, we were just looking in the wrong suitcase.
