Where did this Weekend Go?
I'm sure a lot of you can relate to that! Whew. I haven't been home in two weeks and I have to be leaving the house in about twelve hours to go back to NY. My head is still spinning, but in a good way. Let me sum up my weekend.
Well, I told you on Friday about my camera problem. I ran over to Ritz Camera at the Cumberland Mall to check out the Nikon SLR cameras. The girl behind the counter was convinced I didn't need that much camera and would be happier with a significantly cheaper SLR. It was also the camera she owned and she loved it. So, hearing her first-hand feedback was helpful. So, I went for it. I picked up an Olympus E-500 camera. Hmmm...now that I look at their online ad, I feel like I missed out - I didn't get a free printer. But, that's okay. I have a printer for my pictures and one for my documents. I love them both. So, when I got home I quickly started charging the battery so I could play with it. I made some dinner then sat down to check out the camera. When I took the cover off of the body of the camera so I could attach the lens, pieces fell out! That wasn't normal. I called Ritz again and explained what happened, they quickly said to bring it back. My second camera is wonderful. Julie, who knows a LOT more about cameras than I, played with it a little on Saturday and seemed pleased. Although, there may be a problem with the camera - is this what I look like???? By the way, all pictures on this blog were taken with my new camera.
I took pictures at the Stamp-a-Stack, but apparently I missed the table in the living room where Mom, Julie, and Kelly were stamping.
I'm so sad. Either that or I really didn't take a picture. But, here are pictures of Elaine and Lizbeth in the craft room and Lisa and her mom, Patty, in the living room. And, I took pictures of the cards I designed or copied. The Zoofari card was inspired by a card on Splitcoast. The Baroque card was inspired from a card Melanie, another member of Claire's downline, made. For two of the three, I made alternate versions to give everyone additional ideas with the provided supplies. I think everyone had fun, but they felt there were too many steps. I need to work on simplifying cards - especially since I have a couple of workshops coming up with new stampers. Hmmmm...
Finally, I thought I'd share the final samples for my Denver Convention Swaps. Some of them you've seen before, but here they are....

I had a really great time on Saturday! I was feeling the pressure, though, as I saw how fast time was passing. They were great cards, and you know how I like to make them all different. You really have come a long way in all this SU stuff - I'm really proud of you!
you have been a busy gal! glad to hear that you've got a working camera, finally. thanks for posting all those inspirational samples. I need to get to work on my new catty swaps. thanks for the ideas!
btw, did you get your free printer?
What variety, what cuteness! I've created a monster!!! Can you tell your convention swaps outshine mine?? I just designed my third one today and it's very ho hum compared to these.
