The Real World
Okay. So far I've been sticking to my very strict budget. Ooooh - with the exception of a new mattress pad. I've been wanting one for a long time. Mine had lost all elasticity so that every morning the sheets come off of the mattress. I splurged and bought the "Luxury" one at Target. But, I did return a dress that I didn't wear in Denver, a memory stick I bought with my new laptop, reduced my cell-phone plan and got a brand new cool phone. By the way, I will no longer be getting your e-mails instantaneously any longer.

So, my question is this - when did a dozen eggs rise in cost to be over two dollars?!?!?! I figured they were like one buck. No, I don't look at the price tags in a grocery store - even in college my more frugal friends yelled at me. And, a head of garlic is like three dollars??? I usually use like two cloves and then toss it. What a waste of money that's been! Stop laughing or rolling your eyes at me. I'm in sticker shock.

Last night I went to the Delsea Drive-In. What fun!!! There must have been a meteor shower or something because I saw at least a half-dozen shooting stars. I lost count after awhile. Here's the funny part. I wasn't expecting to pay for my ticket since it was a "date". But, apparently the person I was with was unprepared. But, after I saw him fumbling with his money, I asked if he needed some. He quickly accepted my offer. The sign on the ticket booth said they accepted Visa and Mastercard. However, I didn't point it out. Now, the drive-in is $8/person. I had two twenties - my food money for the next four days. I was pretty proud of myself for keeping on track. He said he'd give me a ten for one of my twenties. Hmmm...if you do the math, I paid for part of his ticket!?!?!?!? How wrong is that??? I don't mind going dutch. But, when it's a first date and he initiated the date and the activity, I should NOT have to pay. Oh, and he knows I quit my job and he still lives with mommy and daddy. He got change back, but didn't offer any of it to me. I was very unimpressed.

What a great night to go to the drive in. Check out this website about the Perseid meteor shower that peaked last night. What movie did you see?

Glad to hear you've revised the budget as you're job-hunting. I know it's not easy. Sorry to hear your date was a bit clueless.

What is wrong with you for paying part of his ticket? Tell him to move on.

We have not talked in a long time. I would still like to have a craft party for my sister in law and her daughters/daughter in law. I know they would love it. I wish you luck in your job hunt. Hope to talk to you soon.
