ACK!
Did you know that there are only three weeks left until Christmas? I think I'm now in all-out panic mode. I've been calm and reminding myself that there's plenty of time left. Thanksgiving was early. Saturday was only the 1st day of December. While that's all true, Christmas is rapidly approaching. I had a fantabulous weekend this weekend. I even sorta decorated the house. I hung wreaths on the door, lit the window lights (they haven't been put away for years now), and threw some garland around my dining room chandelier. Oh, and I'm serving food on Lenox Holiday Platinum! Tonight is dedicated to decorating. Although, there's no room in my house for a tree - let alone the four or five I usually have. ACK!
Are you coming to my holiday party? It's gonna be a blast! I think I now have between 15 and 20 people coming! Woo Hoo! You know I'm having fun planning. Want a sneak peek at my brainstorming??? For those of you who are attending - and it's not too late to RSVP - I'm sure you'll be entertained to see how much of this actually works out!
- The Stamp&Scrap Classroom will be transformed into the Wii Wonderland! I'll have the ability for up to 4 people to play at once and the room should be large enough for some good games of tennis or golf or bowling. And, you can even perform a solo on Guitar Hero!
- The Craft Room will be transformed into the bar area. Where you will find a nice selection of beverages.
- The Dining Room will be overflowing with hot and cold appetizers, cookies, and snacks. I'm planning on a chocolate fondue and all kinds of other goodness. I may even experiment with the Food Network's 12 Cookies of Christmas. There's even a Gluten-Free cookie on the list this year. Yes, there will be "crack".
- The Living Room will be an intimate sitting room for lively conversation and visiting.
- The Kitchen will be a buzz of additional activity! That's probably where you'll find me since I will have overdone it! Although, Mike and my friends are really trying to encourage me to "keep it simple".
This weekend was fun. Mom and I went shopping for Christmas Gifts for homeless kids on Saturday morning. This is an annual tradition at our church. In our tri-county area, there are 1043 kids who are considered "homeless". Our church and a few neighboring churches "adopt" a child and buy a bag of goodies for them. These will be the only gifts they receive this year. It's a fun tradition mom and I have been taking part in for at least the last 6 or so years!
Saturday night I had some stamping friends and mom over to make holiday cards. Okay, I'm getting jealous of my customers. They have their cards done! Mine aren't even designed yet! Every time I come up with something I'm told it's too complicated. Ugh.
Sunday was packed full of fun! Church was in the morning followed by my Tastefully Simple party. We had an intimate gathering and sampled lots of delicious dips, bread, cake, beverages, soup, and pretzels. Be on the lookout for some of these at my Open House - especially a couple of those tasty cheese balls! Claire came down for the party and decided to stick around for our church's Christmas Pageant. Mike also escorted me. Our church doesn't exactly put on a "traditional" pageant. They've been putting on a series of plays every year now that focuses on a group of cousins. This year "Christmas Leaves Cricket County" entertained us all. They put on such an entertaining play. Each year they get better and better. I'm sure it wasn't at all what Claire was expecting - I warned Mike - but I hope they enjoyed it.
Now it's back to a fun week at work. 3 Weeks 'Til Christmas!
