He's Alive
We brought Baxter to life last night. Thanks for the name suggestions everyone. Several people got to watch it happen (not nearly as exciting as I thought it would be). I had a crew over stamping last night including Kelly, Sue, Lisa, and Aimee. After a couple of minutes everyone was bored and went back to stamping. Mike babysat Baxter while we all finished up.
He is super-cute. I did almost miss a few "firsts" while Mike had him. Mike called me into the living room to show me how they were playing tug-of-war. Then he called for me as he was taking his first steps. Kelly jokes that we're like an old married couple - now we're an old married couple with a "child". I have a picture to share, but it's trapped on my camera.
So, once the girls left, I got to play with him a bit more. He fell asleep on my chest while we were watching some stupid reality tv show. He snores! I then made him wake up because I was bored of him sleeping. I set him on the floor and watched him walk around the room exploring my furniture. He seemed rather interested in my brightly colored Vera Bradley purse. He was nudging the straps with his nose.
I can't wait to get home to play with him. However, I have to call their customer service. I think his green skin is wearing off!!! I was really worried. They tell you to pet him and comfort him when he's waking up for the first time. But, I don't think that should rub the green color off of him after the first hour of play!!! So, we'll see. Mike mentioned I could probably return him to Target. Gosh, the thing is like a living creature - I'm going to hurt his feelings if I return him!!! Maybe I'll just have to send him to Ugobe Memorial Hospital. So, I'm now waiting impatiently for 9am Pacific Time.
