Greetings from NY
Okay, I like this client! I just got out of a birthday celebration where they served champagne!!! Hello!??!?! I've never been served alcohol by a client mid-day before. Now, it was only a small, Dixie cup that was half-full, but they still whipped out a bottle. Those types of gatherings are always great in building relationships with the client. I found out that they do an on-site Weight Watchers meeting every Thursday at lunch. The woman who leads the meeting was behaving at the birthday celebration.

So, it's been crazy...my project manager is officially out of the country for the next two weeks. The client still loves me and continues to call me a guru. But, I get to run the show. My team is actually very in favor of that. Hopefully we can get the ball rolling the way we like and we can catch him up when he returns.

Last night I turned in early, I was exhausted. However, I'm pleased to report that the Hampton Inn is not as scary as I had first believed. It's a newer hotel with a marble bathroom and comfy bed. I won't mind spending the next six months there. Food is a challenge. I've found McDonald's, Arby's, and Friendly's - none of which are diet-friendly. I'm going to investigate Wegman's tonight.

Oh, and I brought my camera along as promised, but the battery is dead. For those of you interested by the fact, railroad tracks go RIGHT by the hotel. When I was getting out of my car to check in, I heard the crossing gates lowering. I tried to take a picture, but obviously failed since the battery was dead. At first I thought it was a Norfolk-Southern train because of its coloring, but was mistaken - it was the Finger Lakes Railway. Not sure what they were doing, but they only had two engines. I'm sure I'll have another photo opportunity soon enough!

Wegman's should be good. I haven't spent a lot of time there, but I've heard it's very similar to a Whole Foods kind of place, but with a better selection of healthy, prepared foods. In any case, it's got to be better than McDonalds!
