Still Alive
Sorry....I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything. I thought I'd take a moment out of my crazy, busy day (not) to get you caught up.

I was going to post on Thursday and show you a picture of our scenery. The college's football team was outside our building getting their team photos taken on Thursday morning. I had to run out and grab my camera. It was a very nice view! My drive home was uneventful and I made it home in my average 5 hours and 15 minutes.

I had two interviews on Friday. Both were asking why on earth I was applying given my experience. So, I tried to explain my change in career. I expect to hear from one by the end of the week. The other said they would decide in the next couple of weeks. Does it really take three or four weeks to review candidates who answer phones and receive faxes and pick up lunch? Job searches for higher-level positions don't take that long!

In the meantime I'm still applying. I tend to focus on a different industry each day. One day I focused on health care. I didn't hear anything from them. One day I focused on banking - that was one of Friday's interviews. Today seems to be consumer products and manufacturing. Both positions were located out of state but definitely still in the Delaware Valley. Both fit my experience therefore I may not be happy. One of them had an hour long commute. Yuck.

Anyway, Saturday was a lot of fun. I had my second workshop in Hammonton, NJ. It was small but lots of fun. There were four women plus the hostess in attendance. Four of them had never heard of Stampin' Up! The fifth woman probably wasn't that current. She mentioned that she had a catalog at home from nine years ago! She was thrilled when I gave her a catalog for free - she definitely earned it! It's always exciting to share stamping with brand new people. I love it when they realize how easy and fun it is. If I could offer a class every day of the week, I would! Heck, in abour 48 hours I can do that!!! I'm going to need to rent space for that to happen. Too bad I didn't rent that office space in Elmer.

So far I'm sticking to my food budget. Are you proud of me? This is week three!!! I have $5 left in my wallet to get me to Wednesday. This week was easy. My consultant friends are taking me to dinner tonight. My client is taking me to dinner tomorrow. So, all I had to worry about was lunch this week. And, egg salad is the answer to that!

Now I'm in NY wondering what the heck I'm doing here. I'm supposed to be transitioning my work to my replacement. The only problem is that my replacement couldn't come to NY this week because of personal reasons. And, she hasn't responded to any of my e-mails today. Bill, my other team member, has a personal day today and won't be onsite until noon tomorrow. What the heck!?!?!?! I'm seriously thinking about leaving Wednesday morning now. There is no point of me being here. Why charge the client hundreds of dollars an hour for me to job search? This is silly.

Well, there it is in a nutshell. The job search is continuing. I feel like I have to look every day just in case my perfect job is posted. However, there's a big part of me that just wants to take a few weeks off. I know I can afford it. Regardless, I'm going to have two and a half weeks off. I'm telling companies that I can't start until the 10th. That's about two weeks. Besides, the interview process takes awhile.

Oh, and look for us on the 8th in front of mom's house.....family yard sale!!! Buy LOTS of stuff to help pay for my mortgage!!! And, yes, there are some things in my craft room that will be sold as well.

sounds like you've been busy stamping and job-hunting! way to go, Kristin. I look forward to hearing how everything works itself out. would you be willing to give some resume tips, since you're a professional interviewer?
