I Got a Deal
So, I finally bought a flat panel, LCD TV. It's small. It's final destination will be my exercise room. It looks small compared to this silly monitor at work, but it'll do the job. Anyway, I headed to Target yesterday at lunch to look for picture frames for an upcoming class. I found the perfect frames on clearance for $3.50! I was so excited. Then I headed over to electronics to see what they had. I really didn't want to pay much more than $300 on a decent TV. And, for the purpose I had in mind, I was happy with a no-name brand. Well, I found a 19" Magnavox on clearance for $299. I thought that was a good deal. It had a very nice picture. I was pleased. However, when I asked the sales guy about it, he wasn't sure he could find one in the back room. I said I'd happily take the display model. That's when I learned they sell the display models for 30% off! That brought my TV down to $210!!! Whoo Hoo!! I couldn't be more thrilled. So the sales guy stuck the tv in a plastic bag and sent me on my way. I got the biggest kick out of the fact that I took home a tv in a plastic bag. My exercise room is shaping up....if I ever get my bike out of the box. Julie and Claire came over last night to stamp. They both went upstairs to check out the treadmill and commented on the fact that the bike is still in the box. Well, maybe now with a new TV, I'll be motivated to go upstairs since I have something interesting to stare at - instead of the ceiling light as Mike pointed out.
